Trapunto Stencils

Secure the Trapunto template with low tack tape and mark the cutting lines with a pencil. Place the card on the piercing mat and pierce the holes for the pattern you wish to embroider. Each side of the template has a different pattern so do not pierce all the holes. Cut the parts out along the template or remove the template and cut the pencil lines along a ruler. To emboss the card using the template, secure the template to the card with low tack tape and flip the card over so that the template is facing downward on the light box. Using an embossing stylus carefully press the card into the illuminated contours of the template. Rubbing the stylus over a tea light or Perga Soft, which will allow it to glide more easily over the paper. If embroidering, secure the end of the embroidery thread to the card with self adhesive tape. Embroider the already pierced template pattern. Make the long stitches in a straight line and pull the thread tight. For an extra touch, a second card can be placed under the already embossed/cut out card. Fix the two cards together with double sided tape.
